Goals for Work Stations

Building on zico's lz ideas, here's some ideas for organizing the space into different functional 'work stations' and what they might need.

Soldering Station

  • Small part and component storage in arms reach

  • Ventilation

  • Nearby sink or hand wash station

  • PPE in a conspicuous spot

  • Space for 1-2 chairs

  • Low foot traffic

Paper and Craft

  • Printers of all 2D types: laser, dot matrix, thermal receipts, or tasteful inkjet

  • Paper cutting tools

  • Zine making supplies and tools

  • Clear working area to move around in

  • Medium foot traffic

Radio Work Station

  • See cyberia_hq/radio

  • Space for 1-3 chairs

  • Exterior access nearby for antenna cables

  • Sound isolated from background noise

  • Low foot traffic

Project Collaboration

  • Table to sit across and side-by-side to each other

  • 2-5 people and chairs

Lounge

  • Sociopetal seating arrangement

  • Cozy

Rack

  • Basement is ideal

  • Low foot traffic

  • Clear work space

  • Easy cable routing under floor joists

AV Space

  • Use the new AV cart

  • Add 2u and 3u rack shelves for equipment

  • Near projector

  • Media preservation and ripping equipment
