- Our finances: not in the black quite yet (slightly in the red)
- Kbot would like to not be the legal registered agent (with the state)
- Bread, Queerposting, and KBot will talk about this before next config day
- Rent check: Margo, Forest, Queerposting gonna handle this after the meeting
Pizza order:
ppl don't want pineapple, ham
ppl want: jalapenos, cheese
Symys: wants to change name of President role
- Steward system instead
New location / rent:
- Forest did research on new spots for Cyberia to exist in
- Found some options in our price range
- all needed substantial development
- ivy building
- they told us that they don't have any spaces open right now
- cool spot
- lots of artists and other small businesses
- in Seward, near 25th St S / 27th Ave S
- we need more money if we're gonna afford anything decent
- we can figure out what we'll be paying and fundraise to hit a rent goal
- let's be pushy about donations!
- do a nicely formatted fundraising post
- put up posters with link to opencollective around the space
- Symys is willing to help promote Cyberia to hopefully get funds raised
- Peertube content could be useful
- Strongthany wants to help
- timeline
- our landlord has attempted to give us a "notice to quit"
- he declared feb 1 as our final lease date
- our lawyer is going to draft a letter saying that the notice is invalid
- also that our lease is inadequate and the property has lots of violations
- after some legal back and forth, there will be multiple hearings
- we will prob be forced to move out - if at all - in April or May
- it's possible that we could work out a deal with Charlie and get a moving fund
- letter to Charlie will be posted in the Matrix Member's Lounge before being sent
- need to have a meeting with lawyer over Zoom
- Forest: we should assume the worst (no settlement, gotta cough up moving costs)
- folks who can afford to pay should step up their donations
- Kbot: have treasurer give a finance report at start of every config meeting going forward
- we already have data from OpenCollective that should make such a report easy
- Config meetings and bylaws
- these are de facto monthly meetings, last sunday of the month
- financial report given
- let's make that formally the case
- Kbot's proposal: let's agree on this, decide roles now and go from there
- vote passes
- every meeting, we ask for ppl to step up as notetaker / meeting runner for next meeting
- also backup ppl for these roles
- we're gonna iterate on this and have formal bylaws later
- for now we're gonna have a treasurer (ideally) and other roles will be impermanent
- Queerposting as treasurer and Strongthany as backup treasurer
- cleanup day!
- LZ is filled with junk
- lots of valuable shelf space that's being taken up by junk
- TODO: make a cleaning day plan
- ideally we'll make a permanent plan
- worth noting: our matrix signup poster has resulted in ppl joining the server
- ppl in the neighborhood want to use a space like this
- we need to clean it up and have better signage before it can be used for public events
- proposal: if you leave something here, it is for communal use
- if you forget something here, you should let folks know on Matrix
- Zico: if ppl make nontrivial changes to the space, they should add their changes to the Wiki
- should be a way to mark something as "don't hack me pls"
- we should have a way to print qr codes to wiki pages
- establish a link between the physical and digital space
- create a way to find something irl by looking in the wiki
- Margo: do cleanup either every config meeting, or once per season
- Reese: questions on junk items
- we should establish a balance goal of aesthetic / practical items
- maybe 20/80?
- if something is practical:
- how practical?
- how much space does it take up?
- who left it there?
- if nobody is attached to it, get rid of it
- one day it'd be nice to have a budget for things like cleanup days, soap, etc
- we need to establish a more coherent labeling and organizational scheme
- we need to cut down on clutter and get rid of stuff
- bathroom downstairs needs to be cleaned and restocked regularly too
- labelmaker needed, Queerposting has one
- Sierra to bring in label printers so that others can try to program an asset tag system
- tags should be visibly clear that they link to wiki and provide info
- we should have posters around the space that explain this system
- visual language: hackable vs not hackable
- software defined AV cart baybeeeeeee
- we could have better shelving for CDs and whatnot
- maybe we could get new couches too?
- a budget for stuff like this would be awesome (one day)
- ewaste disposal budget would be great too
- we could use stickers for cataloguing
- next meeting: Feb 22 (hybrid config + cleanup)
- Kbot to plan agenda / run meeting (Forest as backup)
- Queerposting to promote the meeting, do reminders
- Bread to take notes
- elections were had
- prez: bread
- secretary: kbot
- treasurer: queerposting
