### What is PeerTube?

[[https://joinpeertube.org/ | PeerTube]] is a distributed video hosting network with peer-to-peer video playback and federation between instances.

### Where is it hosted?

Our instance is hosted on an old desktop computer located at [[cyberia_hq/faq | Layer Zero]]. Transcodes may be slow but otherwise it's plenty powerful for us.

### Can I make an account?

Sure! At the time of writing, registration is open. To limit abuse, accounts are limited to 5GB of uploads, but we can make exceptions (especially for Cyberia members); just email [[mailto:ops@cyberia.club]].

The live streaming feature is turned off. You may want to use [[services/stream | owncast]] for that!
